What’s the problem with Botnoi Voice?

The existing design of Botnoi Voice frequently causes confusion and frustration among users. In addition to the lack of consistency and standardization in design components, there are significant issues such as confusing user flow and inadequate error prevention which leads to poor user experiences.
Our mission on this project is to:

How I achieved this solution?

Research

Usability Testing on the current design

Our team conducts usability testing on eight people from various backgrounds, including content creators, teachers, and university students. We asked each participant to complete the tasks assigned to them in order to analyze frustration or pain points that might occur between flows. Then we summarize all information using an affinity diagram and get some insights.
Research finding:
1. All users were struck in choosing the AI voiceover process: They were confused by the flow and were more likely to be struck at this point.
2.Take too long to achieve the goal: They usually used one or two minutes to complete simple tasks
3.No error prevention: There is no confirmation before making a payment
4.Concerned about losing their work project:
The current version lacks a saving function, which makes the user feel unsafe when they explore the new tab and return to find that their work is gone.

Because we cannot solve all problems

It is important to identify the right problems to solve. We worked on this project during a hackathon competition, so we had to prioritize the major issues first. We classified problems into three types: those that prevent users from achieving their goals, those that are annoying but can be tolerated, and those that have little to no effect on usability.
Iteration

3 Major changes in our design

We was given feedbacks from the mentor and our peers, and these are some major change on our design:

#1 Merge Voice Studio into single version

Botnoi Voice currently has two versions of voice studio: one for people working on long scripts such as documentaries, and the other for scripts in the form of conversations. We didn't want to change much about the design at first, so redesign version 1 has two different versions of the voice studio. However, maintaining two versions of a product appears to be a lot of work for developers, and it is easy to confuse new users. So we decided to merge it into only one version.

#2 Changing Voice selection filter

The first revision appears to be a problem because the filter was a drop-down button, which required them to click each filter individually. As a result, in the second revision, we wrapped all of the filters within the filter button, allowing users to access all of them with a single click.

#3 Changing the right tools bar from static to expanding tab

This modification makes the design cleaner and allows users to expand only the tab that they are currently using. Furthermore, we can relocate or add new functionality to this section, such as an import/export function and an AI voice shortcut.
Usability Testing

Is it work?

We ran usability tests on eight people from various backgrounds. Mentors state during the competition that they want to see the results of testing in the form of numbers. So, we were were focus more on KPIs such as CSAT, time on tasks, and NPS:
Voice changing shortcut makes it 81% faster than the current version
Users are more confident that their work will not be lost if they switch to a new tab.
